Step Away from the Noise: Reconnect with Yourself at Undō
Join us for three days of breath, rest, and rewilding in Kent, UK. Because true health begins in the nervous system.
Because true health starts in the nervous system, not with more rules, we (as in my friend
and I) have been talking for years about creating something that blends the evidence base of neuroscience with lived experience and embodied practices. Breathwork is one piece, but so is somatic movement, expressive writing, yoga nidra, and the simple act of walking in nature. Each is a way of releasing what’s held in the body, finding new language for old patterns, and reconnecting with rhythms deeper than stress. Undō is the result: a space where science and soul meet, designed to help you move from survival into ease, clarity, and creativity. In this joint post, we want to share why we believe a nervous system reset is the missing piece in modern health and why we created this retreat for people navigating burnout, contemplation, or the middle of their healing journey.
Daniel’s story
I have spent years working in nutrition, but I also see how easily health can become another form of control. Food and some supplements matter, of course. They nourish the body and support the nervous system, but they cannot reach the deeper layers of stress, trauma, and the reasons we struggle to feel at ease in ourselves.
My own healing has involved therapy, breathwork, psychedelic work, and going back to university to deepen my knowledge of the field of transpersonal psychology. That combination of approaches helped me meet what lies beneath perfectionism and control, which meant that, over time, I began to notice patterns, things that were difficult to put into words. That’s when Miguel and I began shaping a shared language for them, combining lived experience with academic grounding. That process is what grew into Undō: a retreat that helps people move beyond surface-level fixes into clarity, creativity, and ease.
Back in 2017, I stepped away from running retreats, but I never stopped noticing their power. When people have the space to switch off, their health shifts in ways that no protocol ever could. That’s why I’m so excited to return to this work with Undō: to create a space where science and lived wisdom come together, and where true transformation feels possible, even if it’s planting a seed that blooms when the time is right.
Undō is more than a retreat. It is a full nervous system reset, blending practices like breathwork, yoga nidra, somatic movement, rewilding walks, and farm-to-table meals with food sourced from a 500-acre organic and regeneratively managed historic estate in the heart of Kent, but just an hour from London.
What makes Undō different is the framework behind it. It is rooted in both lived experience and science. And this is where Miguel comes in. Not only is he a neuroscientist who can explain the brain’s role in stress and healing, but he is also my best friend. [Miguel says: “This bit made me a bit emotional. I cried a little 🥹].
We have shared this journey for years. And together, we have found a new way of thinking about health that goes beyond the surface. I’ll hand over to Miguel to share his side.

Miguel’s turn…
My own journey began in retreats over twenty years ago. Back then, I had been training to become a Yoga teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga and was teaching Hatha Yoga and facilitating Yoga Nidra and guided meditation sessions while studying nutritional medicine. What struck me most was how quickly people shifted when they were given space to rest deeply and reconnect with their bodies. Later, as I trained in neuroscience and researched the gut–brain connection, I realised what I’d been witnessing years before: the nervous system’s capacity to heal when it is met with safety and care.
The bottom line is that stress, burnout, and trauma aren’t abstract concepts for me. They’ve shaped my own life in very tangible ways. And they’ve also shaped my work. As a neuroscientist, I bring the rigour of research, but as someone with lived experience, I also bring compassion and a refusal to settle for a lot of the BS out there that doesn’t even scratch the surface, let alone offer a long-lasting solution.
My vision for Undō is to bring together everything Daniel and I have lived, studied, and tested. What we know works, and what we know doesn’t. It’s not about adding more rules or more pressure. It’s about undoing what no longer serves you so you can return to balance, guided by breath, body awareness and self-expression.
This retreat is for anyone who feels they’ve been running on empty, stuck in “fight or flight,” or simply longing for more aliveness. We’ve designed Undō as a complete nervous system reset: six sessions of conscious connected breathwork, Yoga Nidra, progressive muscle relaxation, guided meditation, integration circles, rewilding walks, expressive writing/journalling, and nourishing food grown right on the land where we’ll be staying.
The circle will be small and intimate, because depth matters more than numbers. If you’re reading this and something in you whispers yes, we’d love you to join us.
What does Undō mean?
In Japanese, undō means movement, not only of the body, but also of energy, breath, and emotion. We’ve borrowed the word because it beautifully mirrors our vision: movement as a way of undoing what no longer serves. The layers of pressure, tension, and expectation can shift, soften, and release, making space for balance to return.
At Undō, movement is both literal and metaphorical: a breath that moves through stuck energy, a step into ancient English woods that dissolves separation, a gentle practice that allows old stories to loosen. We really believe this retreat is your chance to slow down, reset, and reconnect with the rhythms of your body and the wisdom of nature.
Book before 31st October and receive a complimentary online group integration session after the retreat. Learn more about Undō here or…
Undoing is not an ending, but a beginning. A return to rhythms that have always been yours. If something in these words resonates, trust that whisper. We’d love for you to join us, to breathe, move, rest, and remember alongside us.
With love and warmth,
