I haven’t been on here for a while, so thank you for bearing with me. I thought summer would be slow, but I ended up spending most of it sitting at my mint-green iMac, my dachshund curled at my feet (kept quiet with bits of chicken), working on a rewrite of my first book.
I’m about to disappear for a well-earned two-week break, but before I go, I wanted to share the cover reveal for my book Letting Go of Perfect: A Gay Man’s Guide to Healing from Body Dysmorphia, out 21 October 2025.
Why “Let Go of Perfect”?
Perfectionism has been the engine behind much of what I have achieved. It pushed me to work harder, learn faster, and hold myself to high standards. At times, it even felt like a lifesaver, giving me a sense of control when everything else felt uncertain. But it came at a cost. Living in a state of constant self-surveillance eventually stopped being motivating and started becoming exhausting. The pressure to always get it right crept into my work, my relationships, and my body image. It left me anxious, burnt out, and more critical of myself than anyone else could ever be. That constant hum of “not enough” is what tipped me into the mental health struggles I write about in this book.
What’s the book about?
This is the book I wish I had when I was struggling most.
Body dysmorphia has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. For years, I believed that if I could fix my body, everything else would fall into place. Instead, I ended up stuck in a cycle of obsession, comparison, and self-criticism that felt impossible to break.
Working as a nutritionist and mindset coach, I saw how common it is among gay men and how rarely it gets talked about in any real depth. That silence is not harmless. Without open conversations, it is easy to believe the shame you are carrying is yours alone.
Letting Go of Perfect comes from my lived experience, lessons from plant medicine, and my professional work. It blends personal insight, practical guidance, and a call to action. I explore why body dysmorphia is so widespread in our community, how it takes root, and what it actually takes to challenge it.
Inside, you will find practical tools to shift toxic patterns and build a more respectful, sustainable relationship with your body. Topics include nutrition, mindset, movement, trauma, authenticity, stillness, and creating a supportive environment.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far. I cannot wait for you to have this book in your hands.

I’ll be back here soon. Just let me rest a bit first :-).
